How it works

Tell us what you are trying to get done. We will work out the right way to help.

You do not need to choose a service before contacting House of Carol. Start with the problem, the result you want and anything important we should know.

Before any work begins, you will know what we propose to do, what is included, what it will cost, how long it should take and what we need from you.

01

Tell us what is happening

Start with a short description of the problem and what a useful result would look like.

Tell us about any important deadline or constraint. You do not need to diagnose the cause or decide which service you need.

A short description is enough to begin. Please do not send confidential files, sensitive information or passwords unless we have agreed that they are needed and how they should be provided.

02

We establish whether we can help

We will ask the questions needed to understand the job and decide whether House of Carol is a sensible fit.

If we can help, we will explain the proposed next step.

If the work needs expertise outside our competence, another specialist would be more appropriate, or there is a simpler route, we will say so.

A poor fit can be a valid answer.

03

We agree the job before work begins

You should know what you are buying before you commit.

Depending on the work, we will set out:

  • the result we are aiming for;
  • what we will deliver;
  • what is included and excluded;
  • what we need from you;
  • the expected timing;
  • the price and payment arrangements; and
  • the terms that apply.

Pricing depends on the service and the job. We will make the applicable price and pricing basis clear before you commit.

If the scope is not clear, the work is not ready to start.

04

We do the work and check the result

Once the job is agreed, we complete the work against that agreement.

We use the methods and technology appropriate to the job. Digital tools and AI may help where useful, but they do not replace human judgement or become something you are expected to buy simply because they exist.

Where evidence matters, we distinguish what is known from what is uncertain or still needs checking.

Before handover, we check the work against the agreed requirements.

If something materially changes during the job, we discuss the effect on the scope, timing or price rather than quietly changing the agreement.

05

You receive something you can use

The aim is not simply to finish the activity. It is to leave you with a useful result.

At handover, we make clear:

  • what has been completed;
  • anything important you should know;
  • any remaining limitations or dependencies; and
  • what, if anything, should happen next.

If there is an in-scope defect, we address it against the agreed requirements.

If you need further work outside the original scope, we treat that as a separate decision rather than quietly adding it to the job.

What you can expect

Clear scope. Clear answers. Clear next steps.

We will tell you what we know.
Where something is uncertain, we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

We will keep the work proportionate.
Technology, process and documentation should serve the result rather than make the job unnecessarily complicated.

We will be clear about boundaries.
If regulated or specialist professional advice is required beyond House of Carol's competence, we will tell you.

We will not force your problem into the wrong service.
The purpose of the first conversation is to understand what you need, not to sell you a particular answer.
